BarleyCOPA: Barley-Fusarium co-pangenomics
In this project, we aim at deeper understanding barley quantitative resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB) by GWAS-analysis of fully genotyped barley varieties after natural FHB infection at diverse field stations. We will further establish a comprehensive German collection of Fusarium graminerum isolates from barley for full genome sequencing. Together with our partners from the BarleyCOPA consortium, we will use data for co-GWAS analyses and genotype x genotype x environement interaction studies.
In her subproject, Christina Steidele is going to achieve a deeper understanding of climate change related abiotic stress effects on barley FHB and its transcriptomics [Steidele group].
