Objectives
Vermittlung theoretischer (Immunologie, Biofunktionalität von Lebensmitteln) und experimenteller Kenntnisse (molekularbiologischer, zellphysiologischer, tierexperimenteller oder mikrobiologischer Techniken) durch die Bearbeitung einer wissenschaftlichen Fragestellung anhand eines eigenen Projektes. Dabei sollen problemorientierte Lösungsansätze gefunden werden.
Description
During the practical course (duration: 6 weeks) students will participate in ongoing research projects analyzing the impact of food-related components (secondary plant metabolites, fat, minerals, probiotics) on inflammatory signaling in the context of inflammatory bowel diseases.

Teaching and learning methods
• To gain and apply theoretical (immunology, biofunctionality of food) and practical knowledge (skills in applied molecular biology, cell-physiology, animal experiments and microbiology) through working on an own scientific project.
