M.Sc. Jose Pablo Vargas

”I hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Licentiate in Agronomy, as well as an M.Sc. in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources with an emphasis on soils, all from the University of Costa Rica. My academic and professional work has focused on soil quality and health, aggregate stability, and soil management in tropical cropping systems, particularly banana production. Through research, teaching, and industry experience, I have worked on soil–plant interactions and sustainable agricultural systems. At TUM, I am focusing on soil–plant water relations and on advancing knowledge and tools for resilient crop systems under environmental variability, with a particular interest in agrivoltaics.“
