Prof. Dr. Ana Mora-Boza
Ana is originally from Espartinas, a small town in southern Spain, in the province of Seville. She studied Biotechnology at Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain) and completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (2020) at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), under the supervision of Prof. Julio San Román. During her PhD, she carried out research stays at the Leibniz Institute for New Materials (Germany) with Prof. Aránzazu del Campo and at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA) with Prof. Andrés García.
She then joined the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, USA) as a Postdoctoral Fellow and was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowship (2021) in collaboration with the University of Galway (Ireland). After four years in the United States, she moved to Galway (Ireland) to complete her postdoctoral training.
In 2026, she was appointed Rudolf Mößbauer Assistant Professor at TUM and was awarded a BMBF NanoMatFutur grant (1.95 million euros, 2025) to start her independent career. Outside the laboratory, she enjoys painting, kayaking, and watching movies.
